On Friday, the Morning of October 21, 2022, BELTEI International University has the great honor to organize the Awarding Ceremony of Honorary Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership (EAL) to His Excellency Dr. JOSÉ RAMOS-HORTA, the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, and the winner of The Nobel Peace Prize, which was presided over by His Excellency Dr. HANGCHUON NARON, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport and the honor presence of His Excellency Dr. CHEA VANDETH, Minister of Post and Telecommunications and the Minister-in-attendance, and His Excellency Dr. LY CHHENG, Member of the National Assembly for Phnom Penh Capital and Chairman of the Board of Directors of BELTEI International University, as well as Excellencies, Lok chumteavs, leaders of the ministry of education, ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Cambodia, national and international distinguished guests, BELTEI management teams, staff, lecturers, and students with 1,600 in total. His Excellency LY NAVUTH, President of BELTEI International University said that this is the third time for the University to organize the Awarding Ceremony of an Honorary Doctorate Degree to dignitaries or outstanding leaders around the world, and it is honored to confer the Honorary Doctorate Degree to His Excellency Dr. JOSÉ RAMOS-HORTA, the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste today. His Excellency Dr. LY CHHENG mentioned that this Awarding Ceremony of Honorary Doctorate Degree is organized after the Scientific Councils of the BELTEI International University thoroughly inspected and evaluated the great achievements and merits of His Excellency Dr. JOSÉ RAMOS-HORTA, the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste has met all the criteria and has global values in educating and outstanding leadership to bring independence, peace, and development for the Timor-Leste as well as the role models for the next generation. He added that the University confers honorary doctorate degrees to national and international well-known leaders, dignitaries, or outstanding individuals who meet the following criteria: 1- Leaders and dignitaries, as well as the most honorable individuals, who have the highest merits and achievements in the cause of national liberation, national unification, national reconciliation, leading for national independence, building peace, and political stability for the nation as well as the humanity around the world. 2- Outstanding individuals with merits and achievements in the development of education, culture, arts, tourism, economics, environment, industry, engineering, architecture, technology and research, new discoveries in mathematics, physics, chemistry, literature, medicine, and other fields for the benefit of society and humanity as well as role models for the next generation. 3- Outstanding individuals who are successful in commerce, industry, business, and professional career, as well as have experiences in line with talents that are useful for society and humanity. On this wonderful occasion, His Excellency Dr. HANGCHUON NARON congratulated His Excellency Dr. JOSÉ RAMOS-HORTA on receiving an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership (EAL) from the BELTEI International University for his great remarkable achievements and contributions of his four decades in leading for independence, building peace, and development the nation including in the education sector. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, he appreciated and supported the BELTEI International University in preparing the Awarding Ceremony of Honorary Doctorate Degree to well-known leaders, dignitaries as well as national and international successful individuals through their achievements and merits. On this auspicious occasion, His Excellency Dr. JOSÉ RAMOS-HORTA gave a great speech to the management teams, staff, lecturers, teachers, and students of BELTEI International University and thanked the university for conferring the honorary doctorate degree. He also expressed his congratulations and happiness to see Cambodia develop speedily under the wise leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia led by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, the Prime Minister. Last but not least, His Excellency Dr. Minister and His Excellency Dr. LY CHHENG bestowed the Honorary Doctorate Degree to His Excellency Dr. JOSÉ RAMOS-HORTA and invited him to the signing ceremony of the Guest Book as well.
