Organized the 4th English Speaking Contest Program

In the afternoon, September 07, 2017 BELTEI International University organized the final round of “The 4th English Speaking Contest Program” university level for Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students which had a total of 12 contestants and it was also presided over by Mr. Ly Navuth, Deputy Director-General of BELTEI Group and Senior Vice President of BELTEI International University. According to the report of Mr. Reth Chanthoun, Vice President and Manager of Academic & Research Office said: by suggestions from parents and students in 2017, the university launched a national program in addition to the existing international program that is taught in bilingual languages, Khmer & English and a free 1-year of study both English intensive course and computer program to fill the need and being convenience for students to study in order to achieve the high quality in higher education. The university has 5 main programs such as: Bridging Course, Foundation Year, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree & Doctor’s Degree, enrolls twice per year in October and March, covering on the main majors those are consistent with the current and future labor market requirements. At the same time, the university has added a number of additional academic programs to students to improve English language skills and general knowledge. In fact, the English Speaking Contest is an additional curriculum designed each year in September and consists of 3 levels: 1.Class Level Competition: was organized by lecturers in the class in order to select the top winners number 1 to number 3 to compete in the next round (Faculty Level). 2.Faculty Level Competition: was organized by committees from each faculty from the years of students study in order to select the top winners number 1 to number 3 to compete in final round. 3.BELTEI IU Level Competition: was the final round which was organized by the committee of BELTEI International University to select the top 1 to top 3 winners from each year of study. The prizes for the winners are: •First Place: A Gold Medal, a Certificate, 300$ in cash, and a 100-percent scholarship for one year period of study, in case those contestants are in year 4, a 100-percent scholarship for one year of Master program will be provided. •Second Place: A Silver Medal, a Certificate, 200$ in cash, and a 100-percent discount for a semester, except year 4 contestants will be provided a 100-percent discount per semester for their study in Master program. •Third Place: A Bronze Medal, a Certificate and 100$ in cash In this occasion, Mr. Ly Navuth showed his admiration for all the contestants especially the winners of English Speaking Contest who had put their best effort since the First Round until the Final Round of Contest. He added that this program was created to give all BELTEI students the opportunity to express their ability and bravery to speak in public as well as to strengthen the quality of Education in General English Program in accordance with the motto of BELTEI “Quality, Efficiency, Excellence, Morality, Virtue”, and to improve students’ bravery in their speech, action and responsibility. He advised all the contestants to expand their knowledge after their graduation they should have enough capacity in both skills and language proficiency. Finally, Mr. Ly Navuth awarded gold medal, silver and bronze medals with prizes to all the 12 winning contestants from Freshman until Senior.
