•Major Overview

English Interpretation and Translation is an essential and very popular major amongst many students in the Kingdom of Cambodia who wish to use English as a mean to communicate in business, to self-develop and to improve the institutions or to run businesses especially in translation sector. This major can meet the current and future job markets in interpretation and translation in the field of law, economy, politics, diplomacy, humanity, media systems, and arts in Khmer and English. The studies focus on advanced English such as Grammars, Sentence Structures, and Interpretation and Translation Methods of both written and spoken from English to Khmer and Khmer to English.

•Curriculum

The curriculum is carefully and thoroughly designed in accordance with the international standards meeting the local, regional, and international job market demands by focusing on professional skills in interpretation and translation both written and spoken through the studies of core subjects including Foundations of English, Writing Skill, General Culture, Literature, Specialized English, Spoken and Written translation, and Methods for translations, managing the translation process, and understanding new key words in supporting with translation sector. All subjects are conducted in English using newly published course books.

•Learning Outcomes

Upon the completion of the major, graduates will gain broad general knowledge, have high analytical ability, possess good English skills both speaking and writing, and know how to plan as well as good translation management, which can make students become skillful interpretors and translators with high professional skills and confidence in making job operations go smoothly and successfully.
