Organized the 3rd Public Speaking Contest

BELTEI International School organized the 3rd Public Speaking Contest of BELTEI Level for students from grade 3, 6, 9 and 12 for two days and a half, March 09-11, 2017 at BELTEI International University, which was participated by 62 contestants from 16 campuses and 3,900 participants and it was presided over by H.E. LY Chheng, director-general of BELTEI Group and the President of BELTEI International University and Lok Chumteav.

According to the report by Mr. LY Bunchhay, the deputy director-general of BELTEI Group said that currently BELTEI has 33,629 students and they all have enough opportunity to participate in the public speaking contest program in every March. This speaking contest program is divided into two steps:
1. Campus Level is arranged for students from grades 3 to 12 and then the 1st place winners of each grade are sent to compete in final round.
2. BELTEI Level is a final round which is organized at BELTEI International University in order to select the contestants from 1st place to 3rd place winners of grades 3, 6, 9, and 12. The winners are awarded as the following:
- 1st place winners: One gold medal, a letter of compliment, 300 USD cash, and 100% scholarship for 3 semesters to study in General Education Program and a part from that, the grade 12-winners receive 100% scholarship for three years to study at BELTEI IU while the coach is also awarded a letter of compliment and 150 USD.
- 2nd place winners: One silver medal, a letter of compliment, 200 USD cash, and 100% scholarship for 2 semesters to study in General Education Program and a part from that, the grade 12-winners receive 100% scholarship for two years to study at BELTEI IU while the coach is also awarded a letter of compliment and 100 USD.
- 3rd place winners: One bronze medal, a letter of compliment, 100 USD cash, and 100% scholarship for 1semester to study in General Education Program and a part from that, the grade 12-winners receive 100% scholarship for one year to study at BELTEI IU while the coach is also awarded a letter of compliment and 50 USD.
All the winners from 1st to 3rd   place of each grade are entitled and supported to visit Angkor Wat temple for 3 days.

In that special occasion, H.E. LY Chheng admired all the contestants, particularly, the winners who had worked hard since the campus level to the final round. His Excellency also added that that program was designed for the purpose of strengthening the quality in general education program so as to be in accordance with the BELTEI’s motto "Quality, Efficiency, Excellence, Morality, Virtue" and making students have the courage to raise the confidence to speak publicly among the people and being responsible of what they say.

H.E. also reminded all the students to keep working hard to sharpen and improve their knowledge, and after graduating grade 12, they are amply qualified in both general knowledge and languages which can help them to pursue their educations in either local or international universities, and become good leaders and bamboo-shoots to take place of bamboo trees which help develop our nation in the future.

Finally, His Excellency and Lok Chum Teav awarded the medals and all incentives to the 12 student-winners from grades 3, 6, 9, and 12.
