to 843 ESL Level 6 and Level 12 Students
On the Afternoon of October 26, 2015, BELTEI International School sent 17 students to pursue their Bachelor degree programs overseas through the Oknha LY Chheng Scholarship. Among these students, 6 earned scores of “A”; yet, all of them recently passed the National Exam in the academic year 2014-2015. All recipients are sent to study at universities that have signed an MOU with BELTEI International University. One scholarship recipient decided to study in the United Kingdom (UK) whereas 15 recipients elected to study in Singapore, and another recipient preferred to study medical science in the People's Republic of China. Thus far, BELTEI international school has sent 41 students to pursue their education overseas via the Oknha LY Chheng scholarship with 11 students studying in the UK, 29 students in Singapore, and another student in the People's Republic of China. Mr. LY Navuth, Vice President of BELTEI International University, and Manager of the International Relation Office observed that the scholarship examination was administered in a more strict and thorough manner involving many steps during the process though all grade-12 students of BELTEI International School have the right and are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. The examination process is divided into 3 phases. The first phase is focused on General Education, Mathematics, and English with a duration of approximately 4.5 hours. The second phase centers on Mathematics in English along with the (IELTS) English exam, which are organized by officials from Singapore and the UK. The third phase is concentrated on an oral interview between advancing candidates and the aforementioned officials (from Singapore and UK). During this academic year, there were 180 candidates for the first phase with 100 students advancing. The second phase included 100 candidates with 34 students advancing. During the third or final phase, 34 students participated with 17 students passing and earning scholarships enabling them to study abroad. Mr. Ly Navuth admires all candidates who dedicate their time and effort working very hard to achieve their goals and pass the complicated exam. All candidates become more knowledgeable in both General Education and English language as a result of the process because the international standard for pursuing a qualified degree abroad is required. The Vice President advised the recipients to maximize their opportunities so they gain the necessary knowledge and experience obtained abroad to develop our country after graduating. He encouraged them to continue to be good citizens with morality and virtue for future development and advancement in our world. In addition, he encourages all BELTEI students to study more in order to prepare themselves to earn the Oknha LY Chheng Scholarship along with other available scholarships that enable them to study abroad, which enhances their education and worldview. |
