BELTEI Awarded Certificates
to 843 ESL Level 6 and Level 12 Students
On the morning of 24 October 2015, BELTEI International School held a School Reopening and Certificate Awarding Ceremony for 843 students from the ESL Program and the IELTS International Test including 499 Level-6 students, 340 Level-12 students and 4 IELTS International Test candidates at BELTEI International University Campus 1 (Tuol Sleng), which was highly presided over by H.E. SEAN Borath, Secretary of State of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. Mr. LY Bunchhay, Deputy Director-General of BELTEI Group in charge of BELTEI International School, stated that there are 30,572 students enrolled in the current academic year 2015-2016. During the recent academic year 2014-2015, 1,102 BELTEI students participated in Grade 12 National Exams, and 864 students passed, which is equivalent to 78.40%. Moreover, among those passing students, 6 students earned grades of "A"; 32 students earned grades of "B"; 94 students received grades of "C"; 138 students received grades of "D"; 594 students received grades of "E". Additionally, 7 students passed City-Level and 2 students passed Country-Level Grade 9 Outstanding Student Competition in Khmer Literature. From academic years 2004-2005 to 2014-2015, records indicate that 6,006 students consisting of 10 batches completed Grade 12 National Exams, of which, 5,422 students passed resulting in a 90.30% pass-rate. Also, 3,850 ESL students consisting of 36 batches finished level 12. The students' certificates were uploaded to the BELTEI International school website at www.beltei.edu.kh in the G point. His Excellency LY Chheng, Director General of BELTEI Group and President of BELTEI International University, provided his sincere thanks to the invaluable presence of His Excellency SEAN Borath who gave his great honor to award the certificates to all of the outstanding students. His Excellency referred to the growth of BELTEI and all of the hard work displayed by the entire staff, which at the present time, consists of 1,700 personnel. H.E. advised all of the students to diligently study in order to improve their knowledge, and focus on four macro skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. Upon successful completion of Level 12, students must be able to achieve TOEFL or IELTS band scores of 5.5 or above in order to more easily apply for scholarships to study abroad. In fact, BELTEI International school has awarded 17 scholarships to study abroad this year alone including those 6 grade "A" students. The scholarship students selected the following destinations: 1 student chose to study in the United Kingdom; 15 students decided on studying in Singapore; 1 student opted to study in The People’s Republic of China. In total, there are 41 scholarship students counted through October of this year. On that occasion, H.E. SEAN Borath, Secretary of State of Education, Youth and Sport addressed the audience and conveyed H.E. Minister’s best regards to the BELTEI management team, teachers, staff, and students. H.E. honestly admired and congratulated all graduates who have been working so diligently in their studies recognizing their success honored on this day. He said that the large number of students from BELTEI International School amounted to more than 30,000, which reflects the progress and efforts of the management team, staff, and teachers at all levels and maintains the high rate of enrollment consistent with international standards of quality education. H.E. SEAN Borath also mentioned that the growth and strength of BELTEI International School would not have occurred by chance, but that it resulted from hard-work from the management team and staff at all levels along with the efforts from students and parents, which cannot be ignored. Moreover, H.E. SEAN Borath appealed to all of the students to continue their efforts to further their education in order to enhance human resources for the country. H.E. SEAN Borath added that education does not end upon receipt of their certificates, but that education is life-long and without ending. “In order to contribute to Cambodia's human resources with real competence, people must possess knowledge, experience and morality,” H.E. said. H.E. SEAN Borath also reminded all of the students to know who they are, what they are doing and what they are doing it for. Lastly, H.E. SEAN Borath awarded certificates to 843 BELTEI students of Level-6, Level-12 and international test (IELTS). |
