On the morning of September 29, 2015, BELTEI International School organized an event to share the learning experiences of six students from BELTEI International School with scores of "A" to motivate and encourage grade 12 students enrolled in the new academic year, which is presided over by H.E LY Chheng, Director General of BELTEI Group and the President of BELETEI International University, as well as Lok Chumteav. Mr. LY Bunchhay, Deputy Director-General of BETLEI Group in charge of BELTEI International School reported that BELTEI International School has extended its presence and reach to now include 16 campuses with 15 campuses currently operating and one campus under construction. As a result, BELTEI students enrolled in Khmer General Education and ESL studying full-time and part-time total 30,451. There are currently 1,173 grade 12 students enrolled in the new academic year 2015-2016. Of the 1,102 students enrolled in the Academic Year 2014-2015 that took Grade 12 National Exams, 864 students passed, which is an equivalent to a pass-rating of 78.40%. Moreover, among those passing students, 6 students earned grades of "A"; 32 students earned grades of "B"; 94 students received grades of "C"; 138 students received grades of "D"; 594 students received grades of "E". Additionally, 7 students passed city-level and 2 students passed country-level Grade 9 outstanding student competition in Khmer Literature. Seng Gechly, an 18-year-old and student of BELTEI International School, earned grade A in second range of the National exam with the score of 99.999. She shared four considerations that encouraged her to exceed expectation: (1) Individual (2) Family (3) School (4) Society. When discussing the Individual consideration, she said that she knew how to manage her study time: allotting enough time to read; completing the research; and finishing exercises. She added that Family considerations are very important for motivation and the opportunity to attend school. She told us that School considerations are vital. Choosing a school was fundamental for her. She selected BELTEI International School, which includes modern teaching facilities providing outstanding curriculum and experienced teachers. Equally important, the school benefits from well-educated and wise management teams that always motivate students to learn and maintain an excellent educational environment. Ms. Gechly noted that societal considerations are also a factor. She said the great effort demonstrated by the government under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, a wise leader with a focus on education, offers the country both peace and stability. She added that reforming the educational system, especially reforming the national exam, compels students to study harder and meet or exceed educational expectations. On this occasion, H.E. LY Chheng, director-general of BELTEI Group, expressed his appreciation to all of the outstanding students who tried their utmost, and studied intensely throughout school recognizing their success today. H.E. also thanked students’ parents and guardians who accommodated their children to learn more at home with good discipline. H.E added that a school strengthens the quality of education from primary school level to high school level, especially with a focus on teaching methodology and students’ studies. In addition, BELTEI International School offers new extra-curricular courses such as (1) Know-How Improvement Program (2) Mental Improvement Program (3) Field Trips (4) TV Programs (5) Writing Contest. These new courses guide students to learn more and receive more knowledge from grade 1 through grade 12. As a result, more students will pass and earn scores of "A" in the next academic year. Following H.E. LY Chheng's statements, H.E. and Lok Chomteav presented certificates and a 100% Scholarship for a Bachelor Degree for each recipient at University to the six students with scores of "A". Five of the Scholarship recipients decided to study in Singapore while another recipient decided to study medical science in the People's Republic of China. H.E. has generously sponsored each of them with $3,000 (USD) per year, as allowance throughout their four-year Bachelor Degree study. |
