BELTEI Organized the 4th
English Speaking Contest Program
BELTEI International School organized the BELTEI Level final round of the 4th English Speaking Contest Program for levels 3, 6, 9, and 12, which commenced June 29 and continued through July 1, 2015. There were 51 contestants from 14 campuses, and the audience consisted of 2,015 people in attendance. The event was presided by H.E. LY Chheng, Director-General of BELTEI Group and President of BELTEI International University. Mr. LY Navuth, Vice President of BELTEI International University reported that BELTEI International School has added 4 key courses to the General Education and ESL Program as follows: 1. General Knowledge Improvement Program, 2. Field Trip Program, 3. TV Study Program, 4. Mental Improvement Program. The English Speaking Contest Program is a part of the Mental Improvement Program that is organized during January and July of each year, and it is conducted in two stages: 1. Campus Level: the competition is held for levels 3 through 12 with first place winners from levels 3, 6, 9 and 12 from each campus advancing to compete in the Final Round. 2. BELTEI Level: this is the final round held at BELTEI International University to select the first, second and third place winners of each level earning the following rewards: - The first place winner receives the following: a gold medal along with an admiration certificate; $300 (U.S. Dollars) in cash; and a scholarship for 3 school terms at no cost to the student. For level 12, the winner's scholarship to study at BELTEI International University is increased to 4 years. - The second place winner receives the following: a silver medal; an admiration certificate, $200 (U.S. Dollars) cash; and a scholarship for 2 school terms at no cost to the student. For level 12, the winner's scholarship to study at BELTEI International University is increased to 2 years. - The third place winner receives the following: a bronze medal; an admiration certificate; $100 (U.S. Dollars) cash; and a scholarship for 1 school term at no cost to the student. For level 12, the winner's scholarship to study at BELTEI International University is increased to 1 year. - The first, second and third place winners are also each awarded a package tour to visit Angkor Wat temple for 3 days and 2 nights. On that occasion, H.E. LY Chheng, Director-General of BELTEI Group admired all the contestants, especially the winners who had met the challenge from campus level through the final round. H.E. noted that this program was created with the purposes of improving the quality of English education, and to help students strengthen their knowledge of the following: 1. speaking English with others; 2. improving speaking habits; 3. demonstrating self-confidence, particularly as it relates to public speaking; 4. daring to say, to do and to be responsible; 5. enriching general knowledge and research abilities. H.E. also suggested that all students diligently study in an effort to increase their knowledge by concentrating on speaking, listening, reading, and writing English to achieve international test (TOEFL or IELTS) scores of at least 6.0 after completing level 12 in order to increase their opportunities for scholarships abroad in order to become good leaders and to be potential young generation for the future country development. Finally, H.E. and Lok Chumteav awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as other rewards to the 12 winners of levels 3, 6, 9 and 12. |
