Certificate Awarding Ceremony
for 845 BELTEI Students of ESL Program Level 6 and 12
and the Inaugration Ceremony of IELTS Test Venue
On the morning of 31 March 2015, BELTEI International School held a Certificate Awarding Ceremony for 845 students of ESL Program and IELTS International Test including 446 Level-6 students, 350 Level-12 students and 49 IELTS International Test candidates at BELTEI International University Campus 1 (Tuol Sleng) highly presided over by H.E. SEAN Borath, Secretary of State of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Her Majesty’s Ambassador Bill Longhurst, British Ambassador to Cambodia. H.E. LY Chheng, Director-General of BELTEI Group and President of BELTEI International University stated that there are 10,628 students of 34 Batches of both Primary Level and High-Advanced Level have successfully finished their studies including 7,091 Level-6 students and 3,537 Level-12 students. Furthermore, there are 22 Level-12 students this year that took the IELTS test and as a result, obtained the scores from 5.0 to 8.0 considered as the highest group for the International test. BELTEI International School has added a number of study programs to the existing programs of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport from grades 1 – 12 as follows: 1- English language from grades 1-12 2- Computer programs from grades 6-8 3- Extra-curricular courses from grades 10-12 including inviting guest speakers to make presentations on important topics 4- Public Speaking Contest Program 5- English Speaking Contest Program 6- Debate program for General Education and ESL Program 7- Field trips to tourist and historical sites inside and outside the country. Then, Mr. Colin Glass, President of SpringBoard4Asia remarked that BELTEI International University has adopted an international curriculum and is a famous and leading private educational institution in Cambodia due to the fact that students graduating from BELTEI have full competency including general knowledge and language and is able to compete in the current job market. “The success of the students reflects the hard-work and efforts of the school, teachers and students,” he added. On that occasion, H.E. SEAN Borath, Secretary of State of Education, Youth and Sport had a talk and conveyed H.E. Minister’s best regards to the BELTEI management team, teachers, staff, and students. He said the large number of students of BELTEI International School amounting to more than 30,000, reflects the progress and efforts of the management team, staff, and teachers at all levels in maintaining the high rate of enrollment and international standard quality education. H.E. SEAN Borath also mentioned that the growth and strength of BELTEI International School would not have occurred by chance, however resulting from the hard-work by the management team and staff at all levels and of the effort of the students and parents which cannot be ignored. H.E. SEAN Borath acknowledged that the cultivation of people is far more difficult than the cultivation of crops in the field because it requires a substantial amount of monitoring at all times, and the leaders must always be intelligent and resourceful. Moreover, H.E. SEAN Borath conveyed his message by appealing to all of the students to continue their effort to further learn and research in order to become potential human resources for the country. H.E. SEAN Borath added that learning is not ending when receiving certificates, but learning is life-long without ending. “In order to become human resources with real competence, people must possess knowledge, experience and morality. H.E. SEAN Borath also reminded all of the students to know who they are, what they are doing and what they are doing it for. Lastly, H.E. SEAN Borath and Her Majesty’s Ambassador Bill Longhurst, the Guests of Honor awarded certificates to 845 students of Level-6, Level-12, and IELTS and also inaugurated the IELTS Test Venue on the 11th floor of BELTEI International University. |
