Level 12 Student from BELTEI International School
Won First Prize in an International English Speaking
Kheng Sokanhchana a level 12 student has won the International English Speaking Championship 2015 (Junior Championship category) in the Final Round and was awarded a Gold Medal and a one-week free trip to United Kingdom. This competition was organized by the SpringBoard4Cambodia and the British Embassy to the Kingdom of Cambodia in the afternoon of February 5, 2015 at Chenla Theatre-Phnom Penh Cultural Center under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Touch Visalsok, Under Secretary of States, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport , Ambassador Bill Longhurst, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Excellencies, Lokchum Teav, national and international guests, teachers, students and guardians and a total of 500 audiences were present in the event. This competition was organized to develop Cambodian students’ English speaking skills and to provide them with information about the ASEAN, British educational system and cultures and also to enhance their leadership skills and self-confidence. In addition, candidates have had the opportunities to go on the stage to express their opinions on various topics to the audiences and to exchange their experiences. In fact, the students of BELTEI International school won the first prize in the competition every year. For instant, Kheng Sokanhchana won the International English Speaking Championship 2015. Last but not least, H.E. Dr. Touch Visalsok, Under Secretary of States, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Mrs Kathryn Scheding Longhurst showed their admiration and awarded Gold Medals to four championship winners in a friendly and affectionate atmosphere. |
