H.E. HUN Many disseminated “Youth and Clean City”
Program at BELTEI International Institute
On October 1, 2012 the delegation of Youth Association of Cambodia led by His Excellency HUN Many came to disseminate the “Youth and Clean City” Program on topic of “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle-3R starting from youth” at BELTEI International Institute with more than 1000 participants who are members of management teams, teachers, and students. His Excellency LY Chheng, Director-General of BELTEI Group and the President of BELTEI International University, profoundly thanked His Excellency HUN Many, who had spent his valuable time to disseminate the “Youth and Clean City” program to grade 12 students in order to gain new knowledge and experiences in addition to what they have learnt from the institute. His Excellency warmly welcomed and briefly reported on the main activities of BELTEI Group which has three main services: BELTEI Construction; BELTEI Tour; and BELTEI Education. His Excellency added that BELTEI Education is divided into 3 main parts: BELTEI International Institute; BELTEI International University; and BELTEI International Relations. The total number of employees for management teams, staffs, lecturers and teachers is 1,171 (female 476); the total numbers of students are 23,552 (female 11,189), and there are 13 campuses in Phnom Penh city. BELTEI International University campus 1 (Toul Sleng campus) which is located at Building Nº 21, Street 360, about100 meters in the West of Fire Station, is going to be inaugurated for operation on October 22, 2012. It offers international programs and teaching and learning are in English. It has six main faculties: Business Administration; Education; Arts and Humanities; Law and Social Science; Tourism and Hospitality; Engineering and Architecture; IT and Science. His Excellency continued that BELTEI Group was awarded as an Outstanding Organization in the 7th ASEAN TAYO Award in 2012 that was organized by ASEAN Youth Committee in Thailand. Furthermore, BELTEI received a Certificate of Quality Management System (ISO) 9001-2008 for the National Level issued by the Institute of Standards of Cambodia and the International Level which was assessed by ACM Institution and accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service. (UKAS) After that His Excellency Ang Sovannaroth, Deputy Secretary-General of Secretariat-General of the National Committee for Clean City Assessment, presented the “Reduce Reuse Recycle-3R starting from youth” to encourage students to involve in the city cleaning and improve tourism sector as well as to appreciate the Kingdom of Cambodia that is going to host for ASEAN summit and other summits which will be held in November 2012. In addition, His Excellency also provided some good advice to youth and citizens about the environment issues and the effects of plastic waste, and he further disseminated the implementation and strategies for managing and reducing plastic waste by using 3R policy. On that honorable occasion, His Excellency HUN Many, Deputy Director of Youth Committee of Cambodia, gave a warm and friendly speech with regard from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen and Lok Chumteav Kittiprittbandit to management teams, teachers, staffs, and students of BELTEI International Institute. His Excellency also added that with supreme recommendation of Samdech Techo the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the official announcement on the movement of competition for clean city "Clean city is the city where has no plastic waste flying in the air.” On February 27, 2012, Youth Association of Cambodia collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism and the National Committee for Clean City Assessment had made disseminations in many places. On that day, the Youth Association of Cambodia came to BELTEI International Institute for the purpose of explaining to the students the effects of plastic waste and the benefits of clean city. His Excellency continued that on October 28, 2012 there will be activities for dissemination about the effects of using plastic bags in public and at home to all citizens in 9 districts in Phnom Penh city in order to encourage them to involve and disseminate to families and friends about the dangers and working together to reduce the use of plastic bags, and to turn to the use of environmental bags instead. On that occasion, His Excellency provided the opportunities to students to raise their questions related to the topic and he also answered the questions in details with a happy and friendly atmosphere. ![]() |
