LY CHHENG, the Director-General of BELTEI Group and Director of BELTEI International Institute and participated by all management teams and the students of Khmer General Education in Grade: 10,11 and 12, in total 2279 participants. The presenters are namely Major General NEAK YUTHEA, Director Department of Legislation Education and Rehabilitation, Major CHEV HAK, Deputy Chief of Office of Municipal Traffic Police and H.E. Dr. HOR BUN LENG, Deputy Secretary General of the National AIDS Authority. H.E. LY CHHENG warmly welcomed and profoundly thanked the Directors of the three relevant National Authorities for sending the expert officers to disseminate about the Drug Abuse, Traffic Laws, and AIDS to the students of BELTEI on this day. His Excellency invited the expert instructors from the above Authorities to present to the students for 2 days – November o4 and 05, 2010.
On this occasion His Excellency Ly Chheng said that BELTEI International Institute has already organized the schedule of study tours to other historic places such as the Royal Palace, National Museum, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and Boeung Choeung Ek Genocidal Center. Currently the institute had included new educational curriculums such as Drug, Traffic Law, and AIDS in order to support the policy of the government led by the most ideally intelligent Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Kingdom of Cambodia who is leading the country to be proudly developed in all fields. The presentation in Drug Abuse slides show was to help the students to understand and know clearly about the harm that drug abuse could bring about. Drug abuse extremely affected the Khmer youths these days via lobbying from their friends or companions. They did not know the problems which might appear in the future such as the impacts on their studies, health, and social security like robberies and other immoral activities. The slides show about the traffic law was aimed to educate the students to be careful when using the roads. When they are riding, they have to wear their helmets, and they mustn’t consume any alcohol when driving because it leads to accidents which can cause harm or death to themselves and others. Also they must tolerate each other during driving. They have to respect the traffic law and the traffic signs.
In addition, the presentation on AIDS offers students knowledge of AIDS. The world is concerned about AIDS because this disease does not have any treatment yet. AIDS can also infect human beings through sexual intercourse, injections, and so on. H.E also reminded everyone not be overjoyed by the encouragement of their friends and end up contacting AIDS.
Finally, His Excellency Director-General stated that the presentations were very essential for all and therefore they should pay attention and propagate the information to their relatives and friends. He also left some messages for students to try to study hard, not only the general education, but also language skills to have factual theories and know-how in accordance with the BELTEI motto: Quality, Efficiency, Excellence, Morality and Virtue in order to become good citizens and leaders, like the bamboo shoots which grow up to be bamboo, for our country in the future.
