Major Overview

The mission of the Master's Program in Economic Development is to provide leaders and policy-makers with the tools they need to better understand the process of economic development, enabling them to help craft policies that expand the opportunities and achievements of people. The program leads to the degree in economic development and is designed to meet the needs of participants that come from a diversity of backgrounds.

Learning Outcomes

Students completing the MED program will demonstrate:
- critical understanding of current debates and issues in economics;
- critical understanding on the current development theory and trend;
- an ability to use advanced economic theory and quantitative methods in solving complex economic problems;
- an ability to identify the suitable methods to address such problems;
- an ability to identify the development need of the country;
- written and oral communications abilities that enable them to engage more effectively in economic dialogue;
- an intermediate level of research knowledge and skills that enable them to conduct research on economic development in Cambodia or beyond;
- a written ability to complete a thesis or a research report.

Career Prospects

It provides training that is appropriate for pursuing a variety of career paths, including careers in government, international organizations, academia, non-profit organizations, or the private sector.
