255 BELTEI Staff Donate Blood
to the National Blood Transfusion Center
The International Blood Donator and Gift of Blood was celebrated by 255 BELTEI management team, staff, lecturers, teachers and students who volunteered to donate their blood to the National Blood Transfusion Center. They all participated in saving lives of people who are victims of various accidents. This event was held on 12th June 2015 at BELTEI International University Campus 1 Toul Sleng. Mr. Ly Navuth, Vice President of BELTIE International University commented "management team, staff, lecturers, teachers and students are delighted to donate their blood because this humanitarian act will certainly help the people who are in need of blood transfusion". He continued "this voluntary donation cannot be done alone; it needs donations from all Cambodians". Mr. Ly Navuth stated that this is the second time that BELTEI management team, staff, lecturers, teachers and students have volunteered to donate their blood. He sincerely hopes that this event will continue every year. He also appreciated the participation of His Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen who include BELTEI management team, staff, lecturers, teachers and students that donate their blood to help the lives of the other victims. Then, Dr Hok Kim Cheng, Director of National Blood Transfusion Center of Ministry of Health, stated that currently there is not enough blood to help the lives of people who are urgently in need of blood. During one day in Phnom Penh Capital City, we need approximately 80 to 100 blood bags to save the lives of a variety of victims of assorted misfortune. Normally, all over the country, we need around 150 blood bags daily to save the lives of the victims. For this reason, he earnestly encourages all Cambodian people, especially the youngsters, to donate their blood to help save victims’ lives throughout Cambodia. This kind of action is a necessary factor in saving human lives. Director of the Center claimed that, if donators and benefactors decrease, the center would not be able to support and produce the blood by itself. Consequently, participation from all Cambodian citizens is extremely important. Dr. Hok Kim Cheng expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen including BELTEI management team, staff, lecturers, teachers and students who voluntarily donated their blood at this event in order to save victims’ lives that are urgently in need of blood. Afterward, management team, staff, lecturers, teachers and all students of BELTEI Group donated their blood to the National Blood Transfusion Center. |
