BELTEI International University Student won First Prize in
International English Speaking Championship 2013
In the afternoon, on January 24, 2013, The SpringBoard4Cambodia located in Cambodia, cooperated with Kaplan, International Education Company from United Kingdom organized and held the International English Speaking Championship 2013 at Chaktomuk Conference Hall under the presidency of H.E. HMA MARK Gooding, Her Majesty's British Ambassador to Cambodia and H.E. OUK Kimseng, high representative of H.E. KHIEV Kanharith, Minister of Information, and 500 participants of His Excellency, Lokchum Teav, national and international guests, teachers, students and guardians. This program was set up as round competitions participated by 14 universities. It started on October 2012 and the final round held on January 24, 2013. H.E. Ly Chheng Director-General of BELTEI Group and President of BELTEI International University stated that International English Speaking Championship was facilitated by COLLIN Glass, Director of Springboard for Asia, who has cooperated with Kaplan, International Education Company from United Kingdom in order to develop students’ English speaking and to provide them information about the British educational system and cultures and also to enhance their leadership and self-confidence. In addition, candidates have had the opportunities to go on the stage to demonstrate their opinions on various topics to the audiences and to exchange their experiences. His Excellency further stated that it was our highest pride when EA Ailourng, the candidate from BELTEI International University, won the International English Speaking Championship (University Championship category) in the final round and received a Medal and a free study tour to United Kingdom for a week. In order to reach the final round and to win the championship, EA Ailourng had to overcome many challenges such as: - Registering for the competition - Taking Cambridge ESOL Examination - Competition in the first round - Competition in the second round - Competition in the final round Eventually, Her Majesty's British Ambassador to the Royal Kingdom of Cambodia showed his admiration and awarded medals to five champions in a friendly and affectionate atmosphere. |
